The prize is for unpublished poems written by adults for children aged 7-11. 1st prize EUR1,000 plus a week at Circle of Misse in France, 2nd prize EUR500, 3rd prize EUR250. The winning poems are also published in the Irish Times online. Entrants are welcome from anywhere in the world. Prizes include €1,000 for first place. Arundel Literary Festival Competition

New Fiction Competition added. Flash Fiction, original unpublished work up to 500 words. Minimum age for entry 16 years, resident in the UK. Adjudicated by West Sussex based writer of detective fiction and radio plays. Winners will be invited to read in the prizegiving evening of the Literary Festival. Cheshire Prize for Literature 2024/25

New Poetry Competition added. The prize has no theme. Entrants can write about anything that inspires them. There are five categories: short stories; poetry; children's literature; scriptwriting; and new for this year, Flash fiction. There are three age groups: primary, secondary and over 18's. Entrants must live or have lived, work or have worked, studied or have studied in Cheshire, Wirral, Warrington or Halton. Terms and conditions can be found on our website with more details.
