User feedback

Automated submission system makes it look more like self-publishing. However, was surprised to see genuine comments from multiple readers making intelligent comments. Offers 5 levels of contract -- the lower ones (towards 5) require author subsidy. I was offered L2, meaning no subsidy, but there were still hints of "buying a marketing package". Put off by the fact you can only talk to them through a public forum.

This publisher proclaims no fees but will in most cases hand you on to an associate "partnership" publisher who will evaluate your work and then propose a fee to underwrite costs. Not entirely without virtue and a useful avenue for first time writers who have exhausted other options.

Response in one day good. Full submission returned almost certainly unread, not good. Don't do much fiction the advice.
