Back to neutral gear... Finally, nearly three months I've waited... Got a very short, but personalized letter. Rejected my synopsis saying they cannot accept unsolicted mss... Well why say they accept synopses (which is all I sent)? Well, why should they care about any of us... By the way, the synopsis looked very well thumbed...

Footnote to my earlier comment... I called 4th Estate/HarperCollins to ask what might've happened to my synopsis after wrongly addressing it to the departed Courtney H. Nice people said not to worry, someone in Editorial would look at it, but to be patient as they receive an awful lot. So, hope can spring eternal... At least it might, just might, get looked at!

According to Publishers' Weekly, Courtney Hodell left for Farrar, Strauss in NY on March 9, 2006. Just my luck, I sent a synopsis for my novel to the lady at Fourth Estate here in U.K. at end of February... No reply, of course... You'd think, wouldn't you, that some kind soul at Harper's would return her post in the provided s.a.e.? Maybe she's taken it all with her... but I doubt it! She's very young, I believe, so why should she care about people trying to be writers? It seems nobody does...
