What are rectos and versos?

"Recto" and "verso" are the publishing terms for right and left-hand pages in a printed book.

You can remember which is which by remembering that "recto" is similar to the word "right". When you first open a book, the first page you see will be a recto. When you turn the page, you will see the "verso" on the "reverse" of the sheet of paper, so the verso is the left-hand page.
