About the firstwriter.com Affiliate
Program
What is an Affiliate Program?
Affiliate Programs are common throughout the Internet, and offer website
owners a means of profiting from their websites. Affiliates generate sales
for commercial websites, and in return receive a percentage of the value
of those sales.
Back to Questions
How Does it Work?
When
you join the firstwriter.com Affiliate Program you will be supplied
with a range of banners, search boxes, and textual links to place on your site with
your own, unique, linking code. Where, which, and how many you use
is entirely up to you. When a visitor to your site uses one of your links to firstwriter.com
their activity will be tracked by our affiliate technology, and, if that
user proceeds to enter a competition or take out a subscription your account
will be credited with either 15% of the value of the payment
(competitions) or £1.05 for subscriptions (that's over 50%
of the value of a monthly subscription!). You will
also be able to log-in 24hrs a day to view real-time statistics and see
how your links are performing.
Back to Questions
Who Can Join? Anyone
with a website! We can make payment to affiliates anywhere in the world, so your
location is no restriction. Obviously, links will work better from sites
with relevant content (sites on writing, poetry, fiction, competitions,
the arts, etc.) but this is far from a requirement. No special technical
knowledge is required (all code will be generated for you - all you have
to do is paste it into your website), and application can be completed in
seconds online.
Back to Questions
How much money can I make? This is
entirely up to you! It all depends on how much exposure you give our
products, and how enthusiastically you promote them. Since we only pay you
when you produce sales it is impossible for your advertising to ever cost
more than it is worth, so we place no limit on how much money you can
earn! If you could produce a thousand entries a week at £2.50 each we
would have no problems paying you £4,500.00 at the end of each
quarter!
Back to Questions
Linking How
do I link? You must link using your own unique linking code, which can
be obtained by logging in to the members area and clicking on one of the
linking options in navigation bar and following the instructions given
there. Linking in any other way than described in this
section will result in the failure of the tracking system and the failure
of crediting of commissions to your account. Back
to Questions Why
don't my links work? Make sure you are only linking using links given
in the linking section of the members' area. You must
make sure the HTML code is reproduced exactly as it is given - try
to avoid using WYSIWYG HTML editors like FrontPage as they can alter code
without warning. If you do use a program like this, edit the hyperlink or
search box directly in HTML. The maintenance of your links is your responsibility and
firstwiter.com will not accept any responsibility for commissions
lost through incorrect linking.
Back to Questions Why don't the image links I generate
display a graphic? When pasting the HTML into your page you must
not alter the code in any way. Try and paste directly into the code, as
HTML editors such as FrontPage can sometimes alter the code without
warning. Do not change the filename, and make sure you upload the image
into the same folder of your website as the page displaying it. If you
wish to change the name of the file, or the folder in which it resides,
you will have to edit the HTML accordingly. If you have addressed all the
above points but are still having problems contact support@firstwriter.com
with details of your problem and the image involved. Back
